Support group for PostPartum Moms

Overview

This group is designed to be a safe and compassionate space for mothers in the postpartum period (birth to 12 months+).

Navigating the postpartum period can feel overwhelming and isolating.  Group sessions provide a nurturing space for mothers to explore and share their diverse experiences and emotions. In this supportive environment, moms can connect with one another, tap into their maternal intuition, and deepen their journey toward self-acceptance.

Purpose and Goals of this group

Led by a fellow mom, each session will involve a self-reflective exercise followed by group discussion and processing. The group facilitator offers support, resources, and insights from clinical knowledge and research on perinatal mental health. The direction of the group is guided by the needs of its members and the facilitator's primary role is to promote discussion and manage time.

Topics will include but are not limited to:

  • Prioritizing self care
  • Understanding perinatal mental health
  • Addressing the questions, struggles and wins of parenting
  • Processing grief, shame and anger
  • Exploring ways to connect with baby/children
  • Navigating matrescense and identity shifts
