About
"I feel strongly about treating the whole person in a way that is collaborative and approachable."
Why I became a therapist
Hi, I’m Sadie Salazar and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My journey to become a therapist was nuanced, as most things in life are. I was headed towards a career in medicine, and my experience as an EMT-B led to a deeper curiosity about how to care for not only our physical wellness, but our mental and emotional wellness as well. I decided to pursue an advanced degree in Clinical Social Work because it combined my passion for clinical work and social justice. I feel strongly about treating the whole person in a way that is collaborative and approachable. Having the opportunity to hear someone’s story and hold space for their healing is an immense privilege, and I am honored to be part of your process.
Who I work with
I work with individuals, couples and families ranging from adolescence to late adulthood. My areas of focus include stress and anxiety, life transitions, family of origin and attachment issues, PTSD and complex trauma, and sex and intimacy. I am LQBTQIA+ affirming, and offer a sex- positive and non judgmental space to explore and deepen relationships. I have advanced training in working with individuals and communities that have experienced trauma and violence. I identify as a Latinx woman, and prioritize culturally responsive and inclusive practice that holds space for the diverse identities and lived experiences of my clients.

Working With Me
I utilize a psychodynamic, attachment-oriented approach that honors the transformative power of the human relationship. I seek to affirm the dignity and worth of every client by acknowledging your position as the expert of your own life and your innate ability to grow and heal. There is no “typical session,” each time we meet we will evaluate your present needs, while continuing to work towards your larger goals. I utilize an integrative approach that is influenced by a variety of evidence based practices, including Psychodynamic theory, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I enjoy integrating education about the nervous system and stress responses, and powerful methods for managing the physical symptoms that bring many people to therapy.
