Why I became a therapist

I discovered my passion for becoming a therapist because I wanted to positively impact people's lives and engage in meaningful work. My own participation with therapy greatly influenced my decision. Therapy has always had a profound impact on my life by helping me understand how my own experiences have influenced my internal world and my relationships, which has in turn inspired me to pursue a career in psychology as a counselor. Growing up in a Hispanic household, mental health was a difficult topic as it wasn't openly discussed. However, with effort, my sisters and I educated ourselves with our parents' support, which led to increased knowledge (which is power) and growth.. Through therapy, I discovered my true self: empathetic, welcoming, warm, and genuinely compassionate towards others. I want others to have a positive experience with therapy as well. I value creating space for challenging emotions and allowing individuals to be themselves. Your emotions have a home, and it's your body.

Who I work with

I specialize in working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, life transitions, and trauma. I am passionate about supporting college students, young adults, and adults of all ages, including Spanish-speaking individuals. Moreover, I have expertise in working with individuals and families involved in the justice system as well as survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and those impacted by generational trauma.

My goal is to help facilitate and empower positive change and productive decision making. My approach is compassionate and client-centered, meaning that I tailor my therapeutic techniques to meet your specific needs and goals. Together, we will work through your concerns, whether they involve anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, life transitions, trauma and everything in between. I will provide practical tools and strategies to help you manage emotions, improve relationships, and develop self-awareness and resilience. I understand the importance of feeling heard and aim to create a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship where you feel valued and supported throughout your journey. Additionally, if you are a Spanish-speaking individual, I can provide therapy in Spanish to ensure that language is not a barrier to your healing process. I look forward to working with you!
