About
“Life can be messy, we can be messy, and it is my goal to assist you in navigating that, so that we can find the authentic and beautiful self you’re seeking.”

Why I became a therapist
I became a therapist because I grew up without a solid understanding of mental health. In my family, mental health concerns were rarely acknowledged, and I didn’t know there were labels for the thoughts, feelings, and experiences I was going through. Culturally, the prevailing belief was that "it will pass" or "you gotta toughen up." As a result, I believed my struggles were just part of life, something I had to endure alone. It was a revelation when I finally learned about mental health and its significance. I realized how much healing I needed and how transformative it could be to address these issues openly. This awakening ignited a passion in me to help others who might be facing similar challenges. I want to provide a safe space for individuals to explore their emotions, understand their experiences, and find the healing they deserve. By becoming a therapist, I aim to break the stigma surrounding mental health and empower others to seek help, just as I eventually learned to do for myself. It is my mission to foster awareness, promote healing, and support individuals on their journeys toward mental wellness.

Who I work with
As a therapist, I am dedicated to serving diverse communities, particularly the Latinx, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ populations. My practice focuses on addressing the unique challenges faced by young adults and older adults alike, including issues related to cultural identity and self-esteem. I work with clients who are grappling with general anxiety and social anxiety, as well as those navigating ADHD and Trauma or PTSD. Understanding that these experiences are often influenced by cultural and societal factors, I strive to create a safe, affirming space where individuals can explore their identities and struggles without fear of judgment. In addition, I support clients dealing with quarter-life crises, helping them make sense of their emotions and life transitions. Gender identity and sexuality are also central themes in my work, as I assist clients in understanding and embracing their authentic selves. Through a culturally informed and empathetic approach, I aim to empower individuals to build resilience, enhance their self-worth, and foster a sense of belonging within their communities.

“I believe that we all have a story and sometimes, some of us might linger on certain chapters and that’s okay because eventually we will move when we’re ready and when we do, we will grow and learn.”
Working With Me
Working with me involves a holistic and collaborative approach to mental health. I believe that your experiences and symptoms are interconnected with various aspects of your life, including physical health, cultural background, and societal influences like systemic oppression. Together, we will explore these dimensions to understand how they shape your unique narrative. I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can express your authentic self without the need to mask your emotions. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is essential, and I see you as the expert in your own life, bringing invaluable insights and strengths to our work together. I draw from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, including person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and narrative therapies, tailoring our sessions to your specific needs and goals. Therapy can be both deep and introspective, as well as light and playful. At times, we may share laughter amidst the tears, as I encourage you to explore the mind-body connection through movement and creative expression. Ultimately, my goal is to empower you to embrace change, unlearn unhelpful habits, and cultivate resilience as we navigate your journey toward healing and growth together.
