About

Gabrielle Schiller, LPC

“Therapy should make hard days more manageable and good days more meaningful.”

Why I became a therapist

I became a therapist to support and connect with others. When two people truly connect, conversation itself is healing. Through this alliance, my goal is to help clients discover and build skills to live a satisfying life without over-pathologizing the human experience. I call it “smoothing life’s sharper edges.” In doing so, therapy should make hard days more manageable and good days more meaningful.

Who I work with

I specialize in working with young adults, women, individuals with disabilities, and marginalized/disenfranchised populations. Something that sets me apart is my decade-long history working with individuals with cognitive impairments, disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dealing with chronic illness and disability myself, I offer support and guidance to clients navigating new illnesses, adapting to challenging circumstances, unsolved medical mysteries, and invalidating experiences with other medical professionals.

Working With Me

I believe therapy is a guided journey through individual exploration, reflection, growth, and self-actualization. For that reason, therapy looks different from client to client and from session to session. I'm here to offer whatever you need today. I'm a therapist with "Cool Aunt Energy." What makes a cool aunt? She'll pick you up when you're in a bind, but she's wise enough to challenge you when you need it. She will reflect with you on the drive home, but will always bring a tissue to clean up your teary mascara.
