About

Anna Hubar

“Each person's story is unique, and in my practice, I integrate different techniques based on individual needs.”

Why I became a therapist

My journey to becoming a therapist began with a deep desire to help people navigate their emotional well-being, overcome challenges, and discover their potential. Through my personal experience of adjusting to a new culture, I understand the importance of having a safe space to express oneself. I’ve seen firsthand the value of a supportive environment and how it can help manage life's struggles. Adapting to a new environment after overcoming mental health barriers has positively impacted my resilience, and creating such an environment has always been a priority for me. I've always been passionate about human behavior. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been attentive to how life experiences shape behavior, values, and worldviews. This passion drives my commitment to helping people understand the influences behind their difficulties and create positive change. I believe mental health challenges are a normal response to life’s difficulties. By fostering this understanding, I aim not only to help clients comprehend the origins of their challenges but also to create a plan for maintaining mental well-being and preventing future struggles.

Who I work with

I work with diverse adult individuals experiencing life transitions, anxiety, and grief. I understand the importance of recognizing childhood relational or attachment trauma and its influence on mental health and well-being. Therefore, in my practice, I pay special attention to each client's life story. Additionally, I am especially interested in various types of adjustments, including adapting to new environments, navigating life transitions, and integrating into new cultures. Through my experience, I address cultural issues such as cultural transitions, adaptation, and overcoming distress related to relocation. I work with immigrants and first-generation individuals on their journey of acculturation.

“I believe that much of people's distress arises from their perceptions of life's challenges and their self-view. To alleviate this distress, it's essential to allow room for mistakes, connect with one's authentic self, and cultivate unconditional self-acceptance”

Working With Me

Each person's story is unique, and in my practice, I integrate different techniques based on individual needs. I use an integrative approach, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and schema therapy. These methods help clients recognize maladaptive behavioral patterns and transform them into new, healthy ones. I understand the importance of helping clients learn to cope with daily life stress and challenges. Additionally, it is crucial to assist clients in finding their authenticity and discovering the purpose and meaning behind their life choices. Therefore, I also incorporate existential techniques into my practice.
