About
“I aim to create a space that is collaborative, safe, and open by prioritizing curiosity and compassion in the therapeutic relationship.”
Why I became a therapist
My path to becoming a therapist began when I started going to therapy myself during a transitional period of my life as an undergraduate student. What I discovered when I started went so much deeper than I initially had in mind! Curiosity about myself and the ways in which I wanted to grow and exist in the world propelled me towards completing my masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I’ve personally come to realize that understanding myself, my emotions, and my behaviors is a lifelong commitment. This commitment has since expanded beyond the scope of myself to being curious about what that journey looks like for others. It is my goal to collaboratively work with you and join you in whatever chapter you are in life so that together we can recognize the strengths you already possess so that you can move through whatever challenges you may face.
Who I work with
I have worked with a wide range of individuals who have sought out therapy for concerns related to depression, stress, anxiety, family of origin and first-generation concerns, sexuality, life transitions, grief and loss, and relationship issues. I have worked predominantly with emerging adults and adolescents. I welcome working with individuals across the lifespan.
“I believe that therapy can be beneficial throughout different stages of our lives, not only in times of crisis. I believe it’s possible to hold the pain along with the joy. Discovering what our strengths are while acknowledging the source of our suffering brings a balanced and empowered approach to our emotionally complex lives.”
Working With Me
Each person comes to counseling with a unique set of concerns connected to their relationships, environments, and systems. My goal is to meet you holistically where you are at using an integrative and intersectional approach. I invite collaboration and am here to identify your strengths as you move towards your therapy goals. Some approaches I integrate include, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Theory, and Reality Therapy. I believe that the most important aspect to therapy is the therapeutic relationship itself. I am committed to building a therapeutic alliance with you that is rooted in empathy, respect, and unconditional positive regard.
