12:00 pm - 1:00pm Central Time

Sara Groth (she/her) prioritizes her work both as a clinician – specialized in working with both individuals and relationships – and as an educator, acutely aware of where these two roles often overlap. Communication is a prime example of where sometimes we need to step in to educate clients on interpersonal skills and where educational presentations need to give space for care and reflection. Sara has years of experience in diverse settings where difficult conversations take place, from the kitchen table of married couples struggling with decades long conflicts to university classrooms filled with students tackling topics of consent.

Talking the Talk: Communication Skills For Our Personal & Professional Lives

Communication is the cornerstone of all of our relationships – from our family to partners to colleagues. Yet, many people find it difficult to both express themselves and get the most out of their conversations with others. This free, one-hour workshop is designed to help folks at all levels of interpersonal skill find new ways to develop their own voices regardless of context. Integrating multiple approaches to communication and human relationships, this workshop will discuss where our communication patterns come from and how to become more effective communicators.

Training Goals

  • Understand the building blocks of what makes effective communication
  • Reflect on barriers in our own lives towards direct conversation
  • Develop new strategies around approaching and resolving conflict
  • Identify the skills necessary to become a more active listener
  • Encourage participants to continue reflecting on themselves as communicators

For those unable to attend live training, you will receive an email when the recording is available.
