The work of confronting difficult or complex topics can be much easier when guided by a therapist who can set boundaries, offer new perspectives, and encourage families to think differently about an individual or issue. The safety and confidentiality of the therapeutic space can allow families to vent their most difficult feelings without entering destructive arguments without closure.
Over time, through a therapist’s intervention, a family can learn to communicate more effectively, listen more empathetically, and utilize better coping mechanisms to deal with challenging dynamics.
As with any relationship, the bond among members of a family is strongest and healthiest when based on honesty, reciprocity, and respect. While a family might have a lot of love, it may lack the tools its members need to understand and care for one another. Fear of hurt feelings and reluctance to break silence around conflict and trauma can prevent families from communicating honestly about their feelings and reaching resolution.
We tailor treatment to the needs of each family by incorporating a variety of therapeutic methodologies. We approach family therapy in the same way we approach all treatment, using a dynamic and multimodal approach.
Sage Therapy Chicago recognizes that families are complex systems that require an approach that is flexible, comprehensive, culturally responsive, and adaptable.
Our intake coordinator Libbi will help you schedule your appointment and get you set up with our intake paperwork.

Therapy can be incredibly beneficial for anybody! There are many reasons why people choose to have therapy. Therapy is not a one size fits all process and varies person by person depending on their goals. Some may come seeking support for anxiety, depression and a range of other symptoms while others it is in a response to life changing events both expected and unexpected. Many seek services as they pursue personal exploration and growth.

We are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Choice insurance PPO plans. We are considered out of network with other insurance providers, however it is still possible to use these benefits. At the time of service, you pay the fee directly and we will provide you with a monthly "Superbill" to submit your insurance provider for reimbursement. The reimbursement is paid directly to you.
Teletherapy is essentially the same thing as in-person therapy but from the comfort of your own home! Through video and/or phone sessions we provide all of the same services and specialties that we would in an office. Teletherapy is also covered by insurance as it would be in an office as well!
